FAQ's

Q:  What is the process for commissioning a piece?

A:  In order to begin the process we will need an idea of what you are looking for, the occasion we are commemorating and/or any additional information that will help the creative process.  For most jobs, we will need a consultation to gather information and brainstorm any ideas you had.  Generally, we like our consultations done over the phone, but in some cases this can be done via email/text.  Once we establish a game plan, we will begin the artwork process.  We will send proofs for you to review and make any changes until you are satisfied with the look of the piece.  Once you approve the artwork, we will begin production of the piece.

Q:  How much does a piece cost?

A:  As with any custom work, pricing will depend on the size and complexity of the piece, the time it will take to fabricate the piece, the artwork involved, choice of materials, etc.  After the initial consultation, you will be given a price before any work begins.

Q:  What types of products can you engrave on?

A:  We have an extensive library of products that continually expands.  We can work on wood, glass, certain metals, leather and other textiles, and stone.

Q:  What is your turnaround time?

A:  Like any business, our workload varies depending on the time of year it is.  We prefer as much advanced notice as possible in order to give each order the care and attention it deserves, but in some cases rush orders can be accommodated.

Q:  Do you have bulk or wholesale pricing for large orders?

A:  Yes, we do provide price breaks at certain quantity increments.  These price adjustments vary for each item.

Q:  What kind of lasers do you have?

A:  Currently we are running a 60 watt Epilog Helix and a 60 watt Epilog Fusion. These lasers are designed and produced in America and are considered to be some of the best in the industry.

Q:  The laser engraving is cool, but I prefer my artwork to be done by hand. Is that something you do?

A:  Even though the lasers carry the bulk of the load as far as work in concerned, we still provide custom fabrication and pyrography services. Note:  this process is more lengthy and will require more time to complete.

Q:  Do you have a store?

A:  All of our work is done via commission and as such, we don’t keep an inventory in the traditional sense.  There is no storefront available for you to come and browse, but we do recommend checking out our social media links for ideas on products that we have completed.

Q:  I want to buy something but don’t need anything custom. Do you have any prebuilt designs I could choose from?

A:  We keep some of our favorite designs available for immediate purchase on our Etsy store, check us out at www.etsy.com/shop/HighProofDesignsTX for more information.

Q:  What services do you provide to give back to the community?

A:  We pride ourselves in our service and involvement in the community.  Aaron’s grandfather, Charles Aguilar, passed away from Alzheimer’s and his family was blessed by the outpouring of love and support so High Proof Designs is always on board with trying to repay that debt of gratitude.  If you are needing items for charity auctions, raffles, or giveaways please contact us for more information.  At the time of this writing, we have worked with The Orange Out Foundation, Team Josh Foundation, The Recovery Resource Council, One Man’s Treasure, Garland Police Never Walk Alone Foundation, Veterans Center Of North Texas, Wylie JROTC, Sachse Chamber of Commerce, Wylie Boots and BBQ, Take Me Home Pet Rescue and many others.
